Ten kilometres away from the town Sneek in Southwest Friesland, there is a small village called Heeg. The village has beautiful marinas, cosy restaurants near the Heegermeer (one of the biggest inland lakes in the whole of Europe!), and lots of water-sport facilities.
But Heeg is more than just water-sports. Thanks to the beautiful landscapes, the town’s history and the cosy centre, bikers and nature enthusiasts also go here.
The appeal of Heeg is big, because you only have to sail for two hours to get to the IJselmeer. And ten kilometres further, there is the town called Sneek. In the neighbourhood, there are also a couple of old villages that are famous because of the Elfstedentocht.

Directions from the nearest highway.​

1. Leave the A6 highway at the N354.
​
2. Follow the N354 until you reach the village of Hommerts.
​
3. Make a left turn onto the Hettingawei.
​
4. Continue towards the Osingahuzen.
​
5. Go straight at the roundabout onto the Lytshuzen.
​
6. At the next roundabout take the second exit towards the Skatting.
​
7. Turn left at the Tollewei.
​
8. Continue straight to the It Eilan.
​
9. Turn left to continue driving down the It Eilan.
​
10. You will find Hotel Paradice on your right.
